E02
Pentair · Pentair MasterTemp 400,000 BTU Gas Pool/Spa Heater
After repeated ignition failures (multiple E01 events), the heater enters ignition lockout mode and will not attempt to fire again without a manual reset. This is a safety feature to prevent unburned gas accumulation. To reset, turn the heater off at the control panel or disconnect power for at least 30 seconds, then restore power and attempt to fire again. If E02 recurs, diagnose the underlying ignition problem (see E01 causes). Do not repeatedly reset without investigating — persistent ignition failure has a root cause that must be addressed.
