Intermittent Heat
Admiral · AGD4475TQ1 7.0 cu ft Gas Dryer with Moisture Sensor and Wrinkle Guard
The dryer heats normally at the start of the cycle but the flame goes out partway through and does not re-ignite. This is a classic symptom of failing gas valve solenoid coils — they work fine when cold but fail to hold the valve open as they heat up during operation. Watch the igniter through the sight window on the front bottom panel — if the igniter glows repeatedly but the gas fails to ignite after the first few successful cycles, the solenoid coils are failing from heat. Replace all gas valve coils as a set. In rare cases, a weak igniter (high resistance) can also cause inconsistent ignition.
