ARC FAIL
Sony · Sony STR-AN1000 7.2-Channel AV Receiver with Dolby Atmos
Audio from the TV is not being sent back to the receiver through the HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) connection. The TV audio plays through the TV internal speakers instead of the receiver and connected surround speakers. The TV must be connected to the receiver HDMI output port that is specifically designated for ARC (labeled ARC or eARC on the receiver — on the STR-AN1000 this is the HDMI OUT / TV port). Enable CEC (BRAVIA Sync on Sony TVs) on both the receiver and the TV. Set the TV audio output to HDMI ARC or Audio System in the TV sound settings. Try a different HDMI cable between the receiver and TV. For eARC functionality (which is required for Dolby Atmos passthrough from TV apps), use an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable (48 Gbps). In the receiver HDMI settings, verify the ARC option is enabled. Power cycle both the receiver and TV.
