NO SOUND ARC
Sony · Sony HT-S400 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer
The soundbar is connected to the TV via HDMI but no audio is playing through the soundbar. The TV continues to play sound through its own internal speakers. Confirm the HDMI cable is plugged into the port labeled ARC or eARC on both the TV and the soundbar — only specific HDMI ports support ARC, and using the wrong port is the single most common cause of this issue. On the TV, change the audio output setting to HDMI ARC or Audio System (on Sony TVs: Settings > Display & Sound > Audio Output). Enable CEC (called BRAVIA Sync on Sony TVs: Settings > Channels & Inputs > External Inputs > BRAVIA Sync Settings). On the soundbar, set the input to TV or HDMI by pressing the input button until the correct input is selected. Power cycle both devices — unplug both for 30 seconds, reconnect the soundbar first, then the TV. For eARC connections, you must use an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable rated for 48 Gbps. Try a different HDMI cable to rule out a damaged cable.
