Nest · Nest Thermostat E
Thermostat shows the Nest logo repeatedly, or cycles between the logo and a black screen. The firmware is corrupted, usually from a failed firmware update or sudden power loss during a write operation. Try a force restart by pressing and holding the ring for 10+ seconds. If that doesn't work, pull the thermostat off the base and hold the ring while reattaching. For a factory reset: go to Settings > Reset > Factory Reset. If you can't access settings, hold the ring for 20+ seconds until the safety menu appears. If unrecoverable, contact Google Nest support for warranty replacement.
