Thermostat screen is blank or shows a flashing low-battery indicator. Battery voltage has dropped below safe operating levels, often due to a missing C-wire or HVAC system power loss. Check battery voltage in Settings > Technical Info > Power — normal is 3.7-3.9V. Below 3.6V is low, below 3.5V is critical. If no C-wire is installed, consider adding one or installing the Nest Power Connector for stable charging.
