Nest · Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen)
Thermostat cannot detect the fan wire (G). The blower fan will not run independently for fan-only mode. However, the fan may still run when heating or cooling activates if the furnace control board controls the fan directly. Some systems do not use a G wire — the furnace manages fan operation internally. Check if the system actually requires a G wire before troubleshooting.
