Gas dryers only (DVG series). The gas igniter activated but flame was not detected within the expected time. The gas igniter (glow bar type on most Samsung gas dryers) heats up to open the gas valve, but if the igniter is weak (not reaching sufficient temperature), the gas valve will not open. Check the igniter — it should glow bright orange. A weak igniter glows dim orange or red. Also check the gas valve coils and flame sensor. Replace the igniter if it does not glow brightly.
