GAUGE FAILURE
Pentair · Pentair Clean & Clear Plus Cartridge Pool Filter
The pressure gauge is stuck, reads zero when the pump is running, or reads inaccurately. Pool filter pressure gauges are exposed to vibration, chemicals, and weather, and are a common failure item. A non-functioning gauge means you cannot determine when to clean the filter (the primary maintenance indicator). Replace the gauge — they are inexpensive ($5-15) and screw into a standard 1/4 inch NPT port on the filter. Verify the new gauge reads zero when the pump is off and shows a reasonable pressure (10-25 PSI clean) when running.
