Thermostat screen is completely dark with no response to touch or ring rotation. The thermostat has no power and the internal battery is fully drained. Remove the thermostat from the base and check for debris or corrosion on the connector pins. Charge via USB — connect a micro-USB cable (3rd Gen and E) or USB-C cable (4th Gen, 2020) and charge for 1-2 hours. Check wiring at the base to ensure at least R and W/Y wires are connected. If it charges via USB but dies on the base, the problem is wiring (likely no C-wire).
