REPLACE-DRUM
Canon · Canon imageCLASS MF453dw 40 ppm Wireless Duplex Mono Laser All-in-One Printer
The drum unit has reached its rated page count and should be replaced. On Canon imageCLASS models, some use a separate drum cartridge (like the LBP632Cdw with its drum unit), while others integrate the drum and toner into a single cartridge. When the drum wears out, print quality degrades: you may see gray backgrounds, repeating spots or marks at regular intervals, faded areas, or black streaks. To replace a separate drum unit, open the front cover, remove the toner+drum assembly, release the toner cartridge from the drum, transfer the toner into the new drum unit, and reinstall. After installing a new drum, the page counter may need to be reset through the printer's settings menu.
