MECH-CARBURETOR
Briggs & Stratton · Briggs & Stratton 1222EE Single-Stage Snow Blower with SnowShredder Auger
The carburetor has become clogged with varnish and deposits from stale fuel, causing hard starting, rough running, stalling, or no-start conditions. This is the single most common snow blower problem, typically occurring at the start of winter when last season's fuel has been sitting in the carburetor. Remove the carburetor and disassemble it. Soak all metal parts in carburetor cleaner. Use compressed air or thin wire to clear all jets and passages, especially the main jet and emulsion tube. Replace the float needle and seat if fuel is leaking from the carburetor. To prevent this, either run the carburetor completely dry before off-season storage or use fuel stabilizer in every tank.
