Timer Not Advancing
Admiral · AED4475TQ1 7.0 cu ft Electric Dryer with Moisture Sensor and Wrinkle Guard
The dryer runs continuously and the timer does not advance to the off position. On timed-dry settings, the timer motor may have failed — test its winding for continuity. On auto-dry settings, the timer advances based on input from the moisture sensor bars (metallic strips inside the drum near the lint filter). If the sensor bars are coated with fabric softener residue, dryer sheet residue, or lint, the timer cannot detect that clothes are dry. Clean the moisture sensor bars with fine sandpaper and rubbing alcohol. If the cycling thermostat has failed, it may also prevent the auto-dry circuit from functioning properly.
