F6E6
Whirlpool · Whirlpool WOS51EC0HS 5.0 cu. ft. Single Wall Oven
The flat hot-surface igniter (glow bar) for the oven burner has failed. The igniter does not reach the minimum current draw required to open the gas valve safety solenoid. In normal operation, the igniter glows bright orange/white for 30-90 seconds, draws enough current (approximately 3.2-3.6 amps) to open the gas valve, and then the burner ignites. If the igniter glows but the oven does not light up within 90 seconds, the igniter is weak and must be replaced. If it does not glow at all, it has an open circuit. The igniter is fragile (ceramic) — handle carefully during replacement.
