5 BLINKS
Samsung TV & Audio · QN65S90CAFXZA 65" Class S90C OLED 4K Smart TV
The standby LED blinks 5 times, pauses, and repeats. This is the most commonly documented Samsung TV blink code. The LED backlight driver circuit has detected an open circuit or short circuit in the LED backlight strips and has shut down to protect itself. The TV may briefly turn on (Samsung logo may flash) before the backlight cuts out. Hold a flashlight against the screen — if a faint image is visible, the backlight has failed but the main board and T-CON are functional. A single failed LED on a backlight strip can cause the driver to shut down all strips. LED strip replacement requires complete TV disassembly. LED backlight strip kits cost $25-80 for most Samsung models. This is one of the most common Samsung TV repairs. Does not apply to Samsung OLED TVs.
