NIGHT MODE ISSUE
Samsung TV & Audio · HW-Q990C 11.1.4 Channel 546 Watt Soundbar with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Wireless Subwoofer
Audio sounds compressed, flat, and lacking dynamics. Night Mode (also called "Quiet Mode") dramatically compresses the dynamic range — all sounds are output at similar volume levels. This reduces loud peaks (explosions, music crescendos) but also removes audio impact and can make dialogue sound unnatural. Users often enable it accidentally and don't realize it's active. Toggle Night Mode off: press the Sound Mode / Night button on remote, or via SmartThings. Night Mode is useful for late-night listening only. Some Samsung soundbars persist Night Mode across power cycles — must be manually disabled each time.
