Each heating element inside the RTEX-13 has a corresponding LED indicator on the front panel. When an LED is illuminated, that element is actively heating the water passing through the unit. Multiple LEDs lit simultaneously indicate multiple elements are firing to meet the flow demand. This is completely normal during hot water usage. The RTEX-13 has two heating elements and two LED indicators. Both LEDs will be on during higher flow rates.
