MECH-BELT
Polaris · Polaris 380 Pressure-Side Pool Cleaner
The internal drive belt that connects the turbine to the wheel drive system is broken, stretched, or slipping: (1) Belt broken — the cleaner body vibrates (turbine spins) but the wheels do not turn. The belt must be replaced. Open the cleaner body to access the belt — refer to your model's parts diagram. (2) Belt stretched or loose — the wheels turn slowly or intermittently. A stretched belt cannot be tightened; it must be replaced. (3) Belt slipping — sometimes debris or chemical buildup on the pulleys causes slipping. Clean the pulley surfaces when replacing the belt. Polaris drive belts are inexpensive replacement parts (typically $5-$10). They should be replaced preventatively every 1-2 years. Note: The Polaris 360 uses a chain-and-sprocket drive instead of a belt.
