Nest · Nest Thermostat (2020)
Thermostat temperature reading differs from other thermometers in the same room. Can be caused by thermostat placement near a heat source (direct sunlight, lamp, oven, supply register), mounting on an exterior wall, or heat from hot water pipes behind the wall. The thermostat's own electronics generate 1-3°F of heat during Wi-Fi activity. Place a separate thermometer at the same height, 6 inches from the thermostat to verify. Apply a temperature correction in Settings > Equipment > Temperature correction. Ideally, mount on an interior wall, 52-60 inches from the floor.
