MECH-WONT-START-SILENT
Cub Cadet · Cub Cadet CC30H 30" 10.5 HP Briggs & Stratton Compact Riding Mower
Turning the key to START produces no sound at all — no click, no cranking, no response. This means electricity is not reaching the starter solenoid. Cub Cadet riding mowers have multiple safety interlocks that ALL must be satisfied before the circuit completes. Check: (1) SAFETY INTERLOCKS — ALL of these must be met: • Operator seated on the seat (seat switch) • Parking brake fully engaged • PTO/blade switch in OFF position • Transmission in neutral or bypass position. If any interlock is not satisfied, the starter circuit is open and the engine simply will not respond. (2) BLOWN FUSE — check the main fuse (typically 20A) in the wiring harness near the battery or under the dash. Replace with same amperage only. If it blows again immediately, there is a short circuit. (3) IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE — the key switch contacts wear out over time. If battery/fuses/interlocks are all good and the switch produces no response, replace the ignition switch. (4) DEAD BATTERY — a completely dead battery (below 10V) may produce no solenoid click at all. Charge or replace. (5) WIRING DAMAGE — inspect the harness for rodent damage, corrosion, or chafed wires.
