MECH-NO-PRESSURE
Briggs & Stratton · Briggs & Stratton 2000 PSI 1.2 GPM Electric Pressure Washer
Water comes out of the wand but with no more pressure than a garden hose. The pump is not building pressure. First, verify the unloader valve is functioning — this valve recirculates water when the trigger is released, and if stuck open, pressure never builds even when the trigger is pulled. Check pump oil level (on models with a separate pump oil reservoir). Air trapped in the pump prevents pressurization — disconnect the high-pressure hose from the pump, turn on the water supply, and let water flow through the pump for 30 seconds to purge air. If the pump makes a grinding or rattling noise, the internal check valves or pistons may have failed.
