You're preheating the oven for pizza night and suddenly — F2-E0. The oven beeps, shuts off, and your dinner plans are in jeopardy.
What F2-E0 Means
This code translates to "oven temperature exceeded maximum threshold." Basically, the control board thinks the oven is hotter than it should be.
Key word: thinks. It might be right. Or the temperature sensor might be sending bad data.

Try This First — The 2-Minute Reset
- Cancel any active cycle and turn the oven off.
- Unplug the oven (or flip the breaker) for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and try to preheat to 350°F.
If it heats normally without the code? It was a glitch. If F2-E0 comes back, keep reading.
Check the Temperature Sensor
The oven temperature sensor is a thin metal rod that sticks into the oven cavity, usually at the top rear. It's held in by 1-2 screws.
- With the oven cool and unplugged, find the sensor probe inside the cavity.
- Check the wiring harness connection — unplug it and plug it back in firmly.
- Test with a multimeter: at room temperature, you should read about 1,080-1,100 ohms. Significantly higher or lower = bad sensor.
Replacement sensors cost $15-25 and take about 10 minutes to swap. Two screws, one wire harness. That's it.
Could It Be the Control Board?
If the sensor tests fine, the control board might be misreading the signal. This is a more expensive fix ($100-250 for the board), so make sure you've ruled out the sensor first. Control board issues are less common but do happen on units over 7-8 years old.
