MECH-BLADES-NO-ENGAGE
Ariens · Ariens IKON X 52 in. 23 HP Kawasaki FR691V Zero-Turn Mower
The mower blades do not spin when the PTO (blade engage) switch is activated. The electric PTO clutch is the most common failure point — it uses an electromagnetic coil to engage the blade drive. Check the PTO fuse first — a blown fuse is the easiest fix. Test for 12V at the PTO clutch connector when the switch is on. If voltage is present but the clutch doesn't engage, the PTO clutch coil may be burned out — replace the complete PTO clutch assembly. Also check the PTO switch itself and the wiring harness for damage.
